TOMS

The infamous do-gooders of the fashion world – Toms.  I can't get enough of them!  This season's desert wedge comes in cool chambray and super-bright suede.

Now.  If you are anything like me, you know you will wear your TOMS to pieces...literally...until your husband threatens to throw them out the window driving down the highway at 80 mph just so they don't stink the car up anymore...so choose your color wisely!  For now, I am settled on the burlap – a little boho/beachy, and neutral enough to pair with anything.

All the best!

Need It!

While scouting around to find shirts for our groomsmen, I came across Need Supply Co., an amazing denim shop that has a fall collection of accessories to die for!  Think geek chic mixed with tribal jewelry and hand tooled leather.  For me, it was love at first sight when I spotted the RGB nailpolish (any designers get a kick out of that other than me?!), and most of the products come in multiple price points...if you catch my drift.

Like I was saying, I needed shirts for our guys and ended up spending an exuberant amount of time looking at the men's bags (they always seem to be designed for more wear and tear than lady-bags).

See for yourself at Need Supply Co.

Red-Hot

Ah, the red pant trend never fails in the fall!  I can't wait to get my hands on a pair of red, wide-leg sailor pants!  So glamorous, yet so classy, although be careful not to go too over the top with this bold color.  Stick to one bright piece and steer clear of red nails that match to avoid a Cruella de Vil look.

Fourth

Happy Birthday, USA!  It's time to whip out the pure Americana gear (aka Converse All Stars) and rock out in daisy dukes and plenty of stars & stripes!  Here are just a few pieces of iconic American style:

1.  Gingham Shirt from Old Navy
2.  Red Nail Polish by Revlon
3.  Casio Watch from American Apparel
4.  Tote from  EcoStudioNYC
5.  White Sneakers by Converse
6.  Jean Shorts by H&M
7.  Swimsuit from Topshop

PS: Did you know that Revlon was started by three (ahem) men that formulated a new type of long-lasting nail polish during the Depression?  Eventually, Revlon supplied all of the U.S. Army with makeup and was awarded the Army-Navy "Excellence" award!  Now THAT is patriotism!

Florida

Hello there.  I know I haven't been around much lately, however, I have big news: I will be moving to southern Florida to pursue...well...life!  My fiance is headed there in 2 weeks, and I will follow soon after. With this big move comes many changes, including, you guessed it, WARDROBE!  I am kicking away my big sweaters and setting sights on more light and airy pieces.

I hope this inspires your summer wardrobe and maybe a change in your own life, too!

1.   Dress by Roxy
2.   Bikini by Billabong
3.   Shorts at Anthropologie
4.   Tanks by J.Crew
5.   Sunglasses from Forever 21
6.   Hat by Roxy
7.   Scarf from Forever 21
8.   Bag by Roxy
9.   Shoes by Keds
10. Tunic by Old Navy

Stay tuned for Florida part II: Home Revamp!  Lots of beach inspired housewares to come!

Color of the Week

This has been a long time in coming!  Color of the Week: NUDE!  Not only is it super classy, but also free-spirited (see #2 above).  I know some of you may be thinking, "Nude washes me out"...Newflash, the color does NOT wash you out, as long as you get the right shade.  Lean towards the pinks and peaches if you are ivory-fair, while all of you (lucky) olive toned people can wear about any shade of this. Enjoy!

Color of the Week

There is just something about this color that gets my blood pumping!  I have a bit of a history with the color: my mother and I painted my bedroom chartreuse in high school (only to have it painted back as soon as I left for college).  Even though my walls are no longer green, I am able to still enjoy the vibrant color in my favorite item here: the old-school filing cabinet from CB2.  I also have the desk to match!

Keep an eye out for next week's color – it will make you blush!

Color of the Week

I thought Gold would be the perfect color to start out with in my new weekly post "Color of the Week".
I, personally, LOVE to wear gold.  Gold shoes, earrings, ponchos (yes, I own a gold, sequin butterfly-shaped poncho), along with anything else that shimmers and shines.

How does one get away with wearing such a diva-licious palette? Simply load on a bunch of gold jewelry with a plain white tee and voila: instant glam!  Or you can layer gold shimmer with any eyeshadow for a quick transition from daytime to evening.  Amp up your look with a single, over-the-top piece, like a sequin covered cardigan, or a shiny pencil skirt!

Stay tuned for next week's color!  I'll give you a hint – it's blinding!
