Neat Seat
Happy Saturday, everyone! I started my day out right with a quick (and super easy) DIY project–turning my outdoor hanging chair (that was sitting at the back of the patio collecting dust) into an indoor reading nook with plenty of pillows and blankets to wrap up in!
This all began in the early a.m. hours over a cup of coffee and some ebay searching. I was actually looking for a big, vintage leather chair for Dylan to enjoy when I came across this:
When I realized that I had this exact chair (ok, ok, a "version" of it), I decided to drive straight to Lowes and get help puting my own together. With a simple rectangular base, four tapered legs, and some electrical brackets, my chair became a reality, all for under $30 (ps, I got the chair from a neighbor who was going to throw it out...thanks Kristen!).
I hope you have a wonderful day, and stay tuned: we are heading to the Brandon Food Truck Rally this afternoon and will report back soon on all the tasty treats we find!

Taxidermy
The cooler fall temps are finally here, and with that comes the fixin's for fall – fuzzy blankets, firewood, flannel shirts and an excessive amount of baked goods (thank goodness for the flannel shirts...) Anyone from the midwest also knows that hunting season is about to be in full swing, so lets celebrate with a look at taxidermy!
Some people are weirded out by this ancient practice while others adore it. I am definitely in the latter category and am loving the lastest faux taxidermy offerings along with the classics. Here are just a few of my top picks! (ps, mom, if you read this, a walrus chair is at the top of my Christmas list ;)

Need It!
While scouting around to find shirts for our groomsmen, I came across Need Supply Co., an amazing denim shop that has a fall collection of accessories to die for! Think geek chic mixed with tribal jewelry and hand tooled leather. For me, it was love at first sight when I spotted the RGB nailpolish (any designers get a kick out of that other than me?!), and most of the products come in multiple price points...if you catch my drift.
Like I was saying, I needed shirts for our guys and ended up spending an exuberant amount of time looking at the men's bags (they always seem to be designed for more wear and tear than lady-bags).
See for yourself at Need Supply Co.

New Throw-back
My newest piece of apparel...if you can even call it that! More like newest piece of awesome-ness! Oh, but I purchased this little Billabong number in black—so much fancier and madonna-esque. I plan on pairing it with a couple of skinny, long gold necklaces, rouge lips, and a pair of daisy dukes.
PS-Sorry I have been m.i.a. lately, my computer is on the fritz, and Apple is finally taking care of it. Hopefully soon I will be up and running more regularly. For now, I am stuck using a (gulp!) PC.

Want
I don't care what anyone thinks, neon is STILL in. Just look at these DIY felt floor pillows from the Purl Bee! Sooo boho-chic, and the hand-sewn detail keeps these from feeling too serious. Also, I love how large these are; perfect for lounging around on.

Florida part II
It is finalized: my fiance and I have officially signed a lease on a lakefront condo in Florida! I am so glad the search is over, and now we (I) can get to work filling it with all sorts of ocean and lake inspired goods! I must admit, in picking these pieces, it was hard not to get sucked into all the sandy white and ocean blue hues, but I tried my best!

The Kitschy Kitchen
When it comes to home accessories, I always find my favorites in the kitchen section. This might be due to the fact that I am a Martha Stewart – Food Network – Williams Sonoma – Crate and Barrel junkie...or it just might be the fact that there are tons of quirky (and kitschy) items to choose from! Here are a few of my top picks!
- Apple-shaped cutting board from MarthaStewart
- Heart-shaped measuring cups from FredFlare
- Mustache Man corkscrew from ModCloth
- Labeled jars (from Terrain, which is like a mix between Pottery Barn and Anthropologie!)

Mid-Century Modernism

The most amazing architecture sits in Palm Springs! Think Don the Beach-Comber mixed with Frank Lloyd Wright, throw in a little Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby's old Hollywood glamour (ok, a LOT of old Hollywood glamour) and a hint of the Brady Bunch. That should give you a good idea....
