Summer is quickly coming to a close (thank goodness – this southern heat is melting me!) but before it ends, a few of us are headed north for a little "cabin getaway". My packing list essentials? Denim cutoffs, Chucks, a bandana, sunglasses, and some tasty grillin' sauce!
Growing up, we spent many weekends at our lakeside cabin in northern Saskatchewan (smack dab in the middle of Canada, for all you people who skipped Geography class). Some of my best memories are from Shell Lake – fishing with Grandpa, skiing with my dad, roasting marshmallows, mini golfing at a nearby course, playing volleyball, and picking...& immediately devouring...fresh berries near the side of the road.
Now that I am 2,570 miles away, I truly cherish my memories of Shell Lake...and I can't wait to make new ones during our upcoming trip! Now – let's all say a prayer for no rain...
